Carbon API Capabilities

The MyCO2 spend-based endpoint converts a financial transaction into verified CO₂e. Send a spend amount, currency, country and an industry code (MCC, NAICS, BEA, ISIC, SIC or NACE); it returns Scope 3 emissions in grams, kilograms and tonnes, with the exact emission factor, methodology, source and licence used.

The activity endpoint converts a physical quantity — fuel burned, electricity used, materials consumed — into verified CO₂e. Choose from 1,000+ activity types, specify a country and year, and receive Scope 1 or 2 emissions with the factor's methodology, source, licence, gas basis and GWP version. Batch up to 100 items via /v1/activity/batch.

The flight endpoint calculates great-circle CO₂e for a journey by airport (IATA / UN-LOCODE) or lat-long, cabin class and passenger count, with optional radiative forcing. Factors follow the UK BEIS/DESNZ 2025 methodology; the response returns per-passenger and total emissions with distance and haul type.

The freight endpoint calculates logistics CO₂e from weight and distance across road, rail, sea and air — single-leg or multi-leg intermodal. Locations accept UN/LOCODE, IATA, free-text names or coordinates; the response returns tonne-kilometres, distance and the mode factor with its provenance.

The factor endpoint returns the underlying emission factor — value, unit, methodology, source, licence, data year, gas basis and GWP version — without performing a calculation. Look up by factor id, activity type, BEA code, or spend classification (MCC / NAICS / ISIC / SIC / NACE) for audit-grade provenance.

The CBAM endpoint calculates EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism liability for an imported good. Send a CN code, country of origin and weight; it returns embedded emissions, the free-allocation benchmark, certificates required, and estimated EUR liability using the year's phase-in rate and the live EU ETS price — under EU default values or your verified MRV. Batch a portfolio via /v1/cbam/batch.
